| Sunflowers |
| Originally cultivated by Native American, the sunflower served as a vital food source and was even used in medicine. Native American tribal women would also decorate their hair with sunflowers. Dye could also be extracted from the hulls of the sunflower petals, and the pollen was used to make face paint. Throughout history, sunflowers have been used to treat a variety of ailments from warts, to sunstroke, to snakebites.
Sunflowers are mentioned in the Zodiac and are associated with the sign of Leo. |
